Contrast

The relationship between elements effect how well an object can be recognised. A person with low vision may find it difficult to see rice in a white bowl. If the rice was placed in a dark bowl their chances of recognition would be increased.

Distance

	Distance can make it harder to decipher an object. In this case the sign is very hard to read. Getting closer would make it much easier.

Size

The size of an element can influence one's ability to recognise information.

Size and Contrast

From a distance the shape of the tree is instantly recognisable even if details are not.	The house in this picture may prove difficult to see for someone who has low vision
